Peak Paws Advanced Veterinary Hospital, PLLC Mission Statement

To continually strive to provide the best care possible to our patients, through evidence-based medical care to our patients, and excellent communication with owners, primary veterinarians, and veterinary specialists.

We have a unique place in the local veterinary community – supporting the care of patients while also coordinating with local primary veterinarians and needed veterinary specialists. The quality of each employee’s work has a direct effect on our reputation and these relationships.

Our Story

Veterinary Rehabilitation & Pain Management Hospital was founded by Dr. Shults after 3 years of full time emergency practice at Animal Emergency Clinic of Apex. This full-service veterinary rehabilitation hospital focuses on applying physical rehabilitation techniques and pain management to canine and feline patients who have physical limitations due to injury, neurological disease, surgery, or chronic pain.

Dr. Shults became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist in 2013 through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute, and has continued to gain related certifications in disciplines like muscular trigger point dry needling. She is currently working toward her Board Certification through the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation.
To provide the best care possible, Dr. Shults is joined by a team of caring emergency veterinarians, rehabilitation veterinarians and technicians.

Emergency Core Values

We partner with our surrounding primary practices to provide services that they cannot, such as 24/7 hospitalization, advanced diagnostics, and after-hours care. Internally, we have a collaborative atmosphere with our doctors and staff, all working together to provide the best care possible to our patients. We understand that emergencies can happen anytime, that’s why we are proud to offer our services 24 hours a day, every single day of the year; including Saturdays, Sundays, and even Holidays!

We encourage owners to do their follow up care with their family veterinarian, and serve as a resource to veterinarians in our area who have questions or want to refer their patients. With clients, we focus on explaining options and disease processes, working to educate clients so they can feel a part of their pet’s health care.

Rehabilitation Core Values

In addition to those listed above, we provide many services that veterinarians and clients may not be aware of. We work to restore full activity to injured dogs and cats, minimize pain and maintain independent mobility in our senior patients.

Mission Statement for Veterinary Rehabilitation and Pain Management

Our mission is to rehabilitate patients to a fully functioning lifestyle, free of pain, through physical rehabilitation techniques and various modalities of pain management. The guiding principle of Veterinary Rehabilitation and Pain Management is cooperation and coordination with other veterinarians, rather than competition. Rehabilitation patients need to be referred by a primary veterinary or a veterinary specialist, and working with these other veterinarians to the benefit of the patients is essential to successful treatment of the patient.
